Frequently Asked RV
Insurance Questions

Q: Will my rates change if I move to
another state?
A: Yes. Each state has its own rate. Coverage could vary from one state to
another.

Q: Am I covered if anyone else,
other than I as named insured, should operate my RV?
A: Yes. Anyone you give permission has the same coverage you do, as long as
you are not renting to these individuals. If the person is more than an
"occasional" driver, you really should have them added to your policy.

Q: How are my claims handled while I
am on the road?
A: You will receive a claims card and a toll-free number with your policy.
Professional Claims adjusters are on duty 24 hrs a day, 7 days a week
through out the United States and Canada to assist with your claim.

Q: Can we add auto(s) to the motor
home policy?
A: No. You need specific coverages for a motor home that an auto policy does
not give you i.e. liability while you’re in a camp ground, personal effects,
and emergency expenses.

Q:
Will the extra items I have added to my RV be included in the replacement

A: No, if these purchases total $1,000 or more call your agent and increase
the purchase price for additional coverage. This may increase your premium,
but will ensure proper coverage.

liability coverage good in Mexico?
A: No, you must buy Mexico Liability Insurance from a licensed Mexican

Q: Is damage to our motor home
covered while we are touring Mexico?
A: Yes, if you have these two things, first a Mexican Endorsement on your
policy that extends your comprehensive and collision coverage into Mexico
and second you have purchased Mexican Liability before entering Mexico.
Liability policy must remain in force while in the country of Mexico
otherwise comprehensive and collision is null and void coverage.

Q:
Is my vehicle being towed covered on my motor home policy?

vehicle policy.

Q: If I have taken a safe driving
course for my RV, would I be eligible for a discount?
A: In many states there is a discount for taking a safe driver or defensive
driver class, if taken within the last 3 years. (This is usually a 6-8 hr
class.) In order to keep the discount you need to retake the class every 3
years. In some cases a Commercial Drivers License will meet this
requirement.
